Our commitment to making both our care and this website usable by everyone, and how to tell us when we fall short.
Care that comes to you is accessibility. For many patients, the trip to a clinic is the barrier.
Doctors-To-You exists because getting to a clinic is not equally easy for everyone. Removing that barrier is the point of the service, and we take the same view of everything else we build and do.
We are committed to identifying and removing barriers so that people with disabilities can use our service and this website with the same ease as anyone else. We treat accessibility as continuing work rather than a box that gets ticked once.
We work to meet our obligations under The Accessibility for Manitobans Act and the standards made under it, including the Accessible Customer Service Standard and the Accessible Information and Communication Standard, as well as our duty to accommodate under The Human Rights Code of Manitoba.
Care at home removes the barrier many patients find hardest, which is the journey itself. There is no waiting room to navigate, no parking to find, and no stairs at a clinic door.
Where a home visit is not the right fit, a phone visit needs no video, no app, and no internet connection beyond a working telephone, so it is open to patients who do not use a computer.
Tell us what you need when you book, on 204-586-6655, and we will make reasonable efforts to arrange it. That includes:
You will never be charged extra for an accommodation.
If any part of this website gets in your way, you never have to use it. Call 204-586-6655 and a person will do it with you, seven days a week from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Our care comes to you, so you do not need to visit our office to be seen by a physician. If you do need to come to us at 354 Selkirk Avenue, please call ahead on 204-586-6655. We will tell you what to expect on arrival and make arrangements to meet your needs.
This site was built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, which is the standard the Accessible Information and Communication Standard sets for web content in Manitoba. Specific measures in the build include:
We test with a keyboard, at increased zoom, and against contrast requirements, and we fix what we find.
You can ask us for the information on this website, or any information we give you about your care, in another format or with communication support. Call 204-586-6655 or use our contact page and tell us what would work for you, for example large print, a plain text version, or having something read to you over the phone.
We will respond in a timely way and there is no extra charge.
We would rather name the gaps than imply there are none.
If something on this site or in our service does not work for you, we want to hear about it. Tell us what you were trying to do and what got in the way. We will fix what we can, and we will be honest about what will take longer.
We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within five business days. You can give feedback in whatever way is easiest for you, including through someone who helps you, and you can do it anonymously if you prefer.
We review this statement periodically, and whenever we make a significant change to the website or to how we deliver care. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
You never have to use a website to see one of our doctors. Call 204-586-6655 and we will take it from there.
